The Importance of Obedience:
Did you Know obedience is still required? Yes its just like when we were kids and had to obey our parents.
It is for our own good. As just as our parents would never tell us to do things bad for us, Almighty Jehovah God is the same way.
He also would never tell us to do things He Himself wouldn't do. I want to turn to and read ( Psalm 128 verse 1 ) please turn with me there, as it reads, " Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.
" Now you may you may be wondering how obedience can be so important? Well let me tell you this, disobedience is of satan.
So how do we keep in obedience to God? Well one such way is by submitting to Him. Turn with me if you will to ( James 4 verse 7 ) which reads, ( 7 ) "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee." The Holy Spirit also helps once we trust in and accept Jesus as our Lord & Personal Savior.
For example the Holy Spirit if we allow Him to will help us with this by helping us not do what the flesh craves since the flesh is automatically opposed to anything of God, infact ( Galatians 5 verse 16 ) tells us, ( 16 ) " Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
" And so when we walk, and live in submission to God we walk and live in obedience to the Lord, along with His will, and plan for our lives.
Now did you know Jesus was also obedient to God when He came here the first time taking on human flesh and coming in the form of a servant? Turn with me if you will to ( Philippians 2 verses 7-8 ) which reads, ( 7 ) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ( 8 ) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." And even now Jesus is being obedient to God the Father's will and plan by being our mediator.
And so much more. As obedience to God is the by keeping His commandments ( Matthew 19:17 ) and doing as He guides and leads to do.
Even though sometimes what He tells us to do may not always make sense but He tells us these things as He knows where it will lead and what the end result will be.
Jesus even kept His Father's commandments which is why He told us to keep them in ( John 15 verse 10 ) which reads, ( 10 ) " If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love." So always no matter what remain in obedience to God our Father and Jesus Christ and however the world makes us pay for doing so, let those consequences be in God's hands, even to the point of death if necessary. And I promise you, in God's time we will be rewarded beyond what our minds can comprehend.
And if you haven't trusted and accepted Jesus as your Lord & Personal Savior, you have no access to Father God in heaven, and no relationship with Him, no hope of eternal life, and all that God desires to provide. I have accepted Jesus and let Him into my heart and I don't regret it even for a second.
So pray to God today! Ask Him for forgiveness of your sins, accept Jesus as your Lord and Personal Savior, let Him into your heart, and take over your life.
Be baptized in the name of Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit and follow how He leads and I promise you, you will be a new person you never thought you would be! And the best part is you will be a child and family member of God!
