Stability

 Stability

1 Corinthians 16:13

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
NKJV

Stability... Everyone desires to have it in life.

After all, who wants to live life in chaos? Unfortunately, life doesn't give us a choice. Each morning when we open our eyes we await things that will catch us off guard.

Good or bad, these elements in life are part of living in a broken world.

The good news is that we are not alone, and there is a source outside the chaos that we can lean on in times of instability.
Psalm 94:22
But the LORD has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge.
NKJV
Throughout Scripture, God is referred to as a rock.

This is not to say that He is made of granite, but it is a reference to His steadfastness. Like a mighty mountain, God is immovable and secure in all His ways. Because of this, He is our source for security and strength.

When life brings surprises, we can stand on our God. When people change, our God will not. When situations arise, our God is our refuge.

As you wake up each morning, spend time in God's Word and get to know Him more. Read His promises with great anticipation. Grasp His love and mercy and allow that to strengthen you.

The more you know about God, Jesus and His might and power; the more you will be equipped to stand strong during the storms of life.

Life may bring instability but with God we can remain stable.
Life Lesson: The more mature you grow in the Lord, the more stable you become in life and in all matters.

Verse of the Day

The Attribute Of God

Deu 4:39  Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Isa 45:6  That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Pause to reflect on these affirmations about the person, powers, and perfection of God.

The Work of God

Isa 11:6  The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Isa 11:7  And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Isa 11:8  And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

Isa 11:9  They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Isa 11:10  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Isa 11:11  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Isa 51:6  Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

Take a moment to consider the greatness of God’s wonderful works.

The Relationship to God

Psa 28:7  The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Joh 14:1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Pause to thank God for the relationship that you enjoy with Him in Jesus Christ.

The Character I Want to Cultivate

Pro 9:9  Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

Pro 10:7  The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

Take a moment to ask the Lord for the grace to grow in godly character

My Relationship to Others

Isa 52:7  How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Nah 1:15  Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

Mat 4:19  And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Mar 1:17  And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Pause to review your relationships with others and to commit them to the Lord.

Thank You for Your great love for me and for Your steadfastness.

Your Word tells me that You will never change and that Your mercy endures forever.

Lord, help me to find stability on You, my Rock.

Bring to mind Scriptures in my times of doubt and encouragements in my times of need.
