To whom or what are you focused on:
Where is your focus? Is it on the here and the now? Is your focus on your circumstances? Do you focus only on your circumstances, or is your focus on Jesus Christ our Lord and personal savior with all your heart, mind? That is what we are going to be talking about in today's message. Do you feel your sinking due to everything weighing you down that this life has thrown at you? That everything that could go wrong is? Peter the Apostle of Jesus Christ went through the same thing. Now keep in mind this is where Peter started walking on water. I want you to turn with me if you will to ( Matthew 14th Chapter verses 29-31 ) ( 29 ) " Come said Jesus. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on water, and came towards Jesus. ( Now watch this ) ( 30 ) But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, " Lord, save me! " ( 31 ) Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and took hold of Peter. " You of little faith, why did you doubt?" Now do you see where Peter went wrong there? He took His eyes and focus off of Jesus and focused on the storm. Hence why he started sinking. Now I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything when life throws everything at us. As we do have things to take care of. But if we keep our focus where it belongs I can promise you that with God's help it be easier to manage and get to the conclusion of whatever is happening in your life.
Now you may say, well you don't know what's going in my life and how hard it is dealing with this. Well you are right. I do not know what's going or how hard it is. But what I can say because I care deeply for all of you is the LORD knows what's going and how hard it is and I promise you He can help. Turn with me to ( Psalm 55th Chapter verse 22 ) which reads, ( 22 ) " Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken." And let's also read ( 1 Peter 5th Chapter verse 7 ) which reads, ( 7 ) " having cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you." So whatever you may be going through, pray to Almighty God our Abba Father about it and wait for His response, As I promise you He will answer in His way and in His time. And I promise you if you keep your mind, heart, and ears open, you will receive His answer. But no matter how or when He answers always believe with your heart, & never doubt. And remember where your treasure is, there your heart will be also ( Matthew 6:21 ). Is Jesus your treasure as He is mine?
And Father we thank you for your perfect goodness, which we know your goodness is by your very nature. We thank you for all you do and for all you teach us, and we thank you for all the ways you help us. Please guide those that are in darkness into your perfect light, through Jesus Christ your son and our Lord and personal Savior, and please help those in need, as well as those that have everything in life thrown at them, and to please give them rest, strength, and comfort. And to please lead those that haven't been baptized in Jesus name, to do so. In Jesus name! Amen!
