Enter Doubt, Exit Faith

Daily Prayer for Tuesday, May 7th, 2024

Heavenly Father, I come to You in LORD Jesus' Name, to give You praise and to thank You for EVERYTHING, in ALL circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18), whether good or what I may think is not so good in this life.

Holy and Righteous Father, first and foremost, thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Son to the world, and thank You, Father, for loving me and personally knowing me.

Abba Father, may my heart burn with a desire to know You better and love You deeper. Claim my deepest affections and cause an ever-deepening homesickness within me until the day You bring me into Your Kingdom in all its glory. I also ask that You please protect each and everyone around the world and heal those who are in most need of Your mercy.

With the power and through the intercession of the Holy Spirit, and in the Holy and Mighty Name of and through LORD Jesus Christ who conquered Satan, sin, and death, I pray. Amen.

Lord,
Thank you for this day and for the brothers and sisters who love you, seek you, and look to walk with you with a pure heart. Something that shouldn't be hard to find but is. I pray we seek you also in purity and truth. We seek to know you, for wisdom and the grace we need to follow you. I am so blest to be covered by your love and for the indwelling of your Holy Spirit. May we live another day to fulfill what you have for each one of us. May we cooperate and surrender to your plan for us. We must submit and surrender to you in order that we please you. Help us to be obedient in following your word as well as your will for each one of our lives. May we be effective and a vessel usable to you and for your glory. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

Today, The love we have in Christ our Lord can not be taken with fight or sword. Remember this scripture after you have done something that you can't forgive yourself for. There isn't anything God won't forgive if you only ask him. God does not hold grudges. Are you worried that God will not love you If you do something wrong? Nothing, Not anything can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus. Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Enter Doubt, Exit Faith

Matthew 14:30, 'But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.'

MATTHEW 14:30-31
The reason Peter began to sink was because of his fear. In verse 31, Jesus used the word 'doubt' in reference to Peter's fear. Fear is simply negative faith or faith in reverse. Where did this fear come from? Second Timothy 1:7 says, 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love, and of a sound mind.' It didn't come from God. This fear was able to come upon Peter because he took his attention off of Jesus and put it on his situation.

Fear or doubt can not "just overcome" us. We have to let it in. If Peter had kept his attention on Jesus, the author and finisher of his faith (Heb. 12:2), he wouldn't have feared. In the same way that faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17), fear comes by hearing or seeing something contrary to God's Word. We would not be tempted with fear or doubt if we didn't consider things that Satan uses to minister fear and doubt. The wind and waves didn't really have anything to do with Peter walking on the water.

He couldn't have walked on the water apart from Jesus even if it had been calm. The circumstances simply took Peter's attention off of his Master and led him back into carnal thinking. Likewise, Satan tries to distract us with thinking about our problems.

Peter's faith didn't fail him all at once, as can be seen by the fact that he only 'began' to sink. If there had been no faith present, he would have sunk all at once and not gradually. This illustrates that the entrance of fear and the exit of faith do not happen instantly. There are always signs that this is happening. If we will turn our attention back to Jesus, as Peter did, He will save us from drowning. No problem is too big for God. We should cast our care about the problem over on God and just keep our eyes on Jesus, the Word.
