Choose God’s Kindness

Today, The love we have in Christ our Lord can not be taken with fight or sword. Remember this scripture after you have done something that you can't forgive yourself for. There isn't anything God won't forgive if you only ask him. God does not hold grudges. Are you worried that God will not love you If you do something wrong? Nothing, Not anything can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus. Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Morning Prayer for Sunday, May 5th, 2024

Heavenly Father, I come to You in LORD Jesus' Name, to give You praise and to thank You for EVERYTHING, in ALL circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18), whether good or what I may think is not so good in this life.

Holy and Righteous Father, first and foremost, thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Son to the world, and thank You, Father, for loving me and personally knowing me.

Heavenly Father, I ask that You give me a spirit of wisdom and discernment to make choices that honor and glorify You today, and so that I may know You better (Ephesians 1:17). Thank You that within You are treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and You generously supply me with understanding through Your Holy Spirit (Colossians 2:3). I also ask that You please protect each and everyone around the world and heal those who are in most need of Your mercy.

With the power and through the intercession of the Holy Spirit, and in the Holy and Mighty Name of and through LORD Jesus Christ who conquered Satan, sin, and death, I pray. Amen.

About Humility

John 6:15, 'When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.'

JOHN 6:15

Jesus 'was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin' (Heb. 4:15). The temptation for Jesus to submit to the crowd and exalt Himself must have been there, but He didn't respond to it. He came to do the Father's will and not His own will (Jn. 6:38). He immediately withdrew from everyone and spent all night in prayer with His Father. Prolonged prayer is an antidote for the temptation of pride and will work a God type of humility in your life.

In Galatians 2:20, Paul is preaching a death to self, but it is very important to notice how this death took place. Paul said he was dead through what Jesus did. He experienced this death by simply reckoning what had already happened through Christ to be so (Rom. 6:11).

There are people today who have taken the 'dying to self' doctrine to an extreme and, instead of being free of self, they are totally self-centered. They constantly think of self. It may be in all negative terms, but it is still self-centered. A truly humble person is one who is Christ-centered. Dying to self is not a hatred for self but rather a love of Christ more than self.

There are false religions that preach a denial of self. We need to be not just dead to self but alive to God. A focus on the denial of self without the enthronement of Christ leads to legalism. True humility is not a debasing of self, or a hatred of self, or our accomplishments. It is simply an awareness that all that we have and are is a gift of God. Therefore, only a person who acknowledges God can operate in true humility.

Choose God’s Kindness

I am often surprised by how many believers gravitate to verses in the Old Testament about curses, evil, testings, and trials.  The riches of God’s love revealed through Jesus are often overlooked as many try to identify with the suffering of Israel under the Law of Moses.  Many have failed to understand the New Covenant, the gift of righteousness, the new creation, and the heart of God for those who love Him.

As a result, the behavior of some toward others reflects the attitude they believe God has toward them.  If we believe that God is testing us with hard times and is upset with us, then we will act that way in our relationships with others.  We will act out of insecurity or frustration.

Let’s consider a different aspect of God’s nature that can transform our lives from insecurity and frustration to faith and peace.

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit  (Titus 3:4-5)

Have you thought of God as kind?  Jesus is God’s kindness and mercy revealed.  Salvation and the new birth are gifts of kindness.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  (Gal. 5:22-23)

God’s very nature is kindness, goodness, and gentleness.  He is not “out to get us” but “out to love us!”

. . . that in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 2:7)

We are going to be experiencing His kindness for eternity.

For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you. (Isa. 54:10)

Only when we choose to believe that God is kind will we be able to show kindness to others.  Frustration and fear will dissolve from our hearts, and we can treat others as God has treated us.  You will know you are walking in God’s love when the verses that attract you are not from the curse of the Law, but from the kindness shown us through Jesus.
