The testimony of your life

The testimony of your life

Genesis 49:24-25
But his bow remained in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob (from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel), by the God of your father who will help you, and by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
NKJV

The holy spirit is alive and will always help you strive. The Holy Spirit is alive and well and living in us. The Holy Spirit gives guidance, teaches us and gives us wisdom and knowledge.  Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Jacob is at the end of his days. With the passing of friends and family members, we are often found at the funeral considering the brevity of life, and much is discussed about the memories of the person who is no longer with us.

Sometimes, we even consider what would be said about our lives. What place does the Lord have in your life now? How close is your relationship with Him? At the end of our days on this earth, what testimony will our walk with the Lord share with others?
Looking more deeply at Jacob’s final words to his sons, we can notice something he says about the Lord. Mentioned in these verses, we see him describe God as:

The Mighty God of Jacob
The Shepherd
The Stone of Israel
The God of your father
The Almighty

Before this moment, Jacob had related to God differently than how he recognized the Lord at this time.

Jacob spoke about God this way:
Genesis 31:5, “the God of my father”

Genesis 31:53, “’the God of Abraham, the God of Nahor, and the God of their father judge between us.’ And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac”

Jacob, in earlier situations, didn’t trust the promises of God over his life:

Genesis 32-33 dealing with Esau. He didn’t trust the Lord’s promises and built a house in a place the Lord didn’t tell him to.

Genesis 34 was the Dinah issue. He didn’t ask the Lord for help and feared the people instead of remembering the Lord.

Lastly, remember what he said to Pharaoh when he met him?

Genesis 47:9
And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred and thirty years; few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”
NKJV

At the final moments of his life, he got a full revelation of God. There’s a big difference between seeing the Lord as a far-off Creator, not understanding His character vs.

“The Mighty God of Jacob, The Shepherd, The Stone of Israel, The God of your father, and The Almighty.”

Jacob realized and said the Lord was his God and recognized the beautiful character of God. Friend, what will the testimony of your life speak?

Will it be known that you understood the character of the Lord? That your relationship with the Lord was deep and life-giving to others?

Life Lesson: When He is the Lord of our life, and we understand the goodness of His character, our lives will influence and impact the lives around us today, tomorrow, and at the end of our days.

Dear God,
Thank You for Your love, grace, and mercy! You are the Lord of my life. Please help me to influence others as You have influenced me. Thank You for making me a light in a dark world.

Lord,
Thank you for your great love. Thank you for your protection as we have that in many ways we do not see or even realize.

Lord, I ask that you remind us of your faithfulness to your children. We are entering a time in which the likes will never see again. Help us to be on standby in full battle ready mode.

Lord, I ask you to grant us wisdom and knowledge for what we may see and current situations we are in that we be wise beyond our years whether we are young or seasoned older warriors of the faith.

Lord, I am trusting you for this time we are entering. You have hidden us, and let us not forget your faithfulness to us when things get really hard.

Let us hear you in our hearts and minds through your word as well that you are ever present. That you live in each one of us.

May we be constant in prayer seeking you. May your shield of protection be felt and let us not forget you will feed us as you did many of the prophets of old.

May our food, families, and housing be protected.

Lord, I ask your angels to be guarding each one of us. We need your warring angels at the ready.
Remembering brethren that are weapons of our warfare is spiritual.

I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
